E2 Mining Service Breakers

State-of-the-art E2 mining service breakers incorporate the rigid specifications and testing procedures developed by a focus group led by engineers from several large coal companies and Eaton design engineers. Additionally, the performance of these breakers was proven and verified during hundreds of hours of field testing in harsh mine environments. E2 mining breakers are available in 600 Vac, l000Y/577 Vac and 1200 Vac. Interchangeable trip units can be used on either 600 or 1000 Vac frames.

HFD-frame Eaton molded case circuit breakers are rated up to 225A and 600VAC and interrupt excessive current flows to protect devices from electrical damage. The J-frame Series C circuit breaker (Figure 1-1) types
JD, JDB, HJD, and JDC are 600 Vac maximum rated
devices with inter changeable thermal-magnetic trip
units rated 250A maximum continuous current. Circuit
breaker types JW, HJW, and JWC are 660 Vac maximum 

rated devices using interchangeable adjustable
thermal/adjustable magnetic or electronic trip units rated
up to 250A continuous current.

The N-frame OPTIM Series C circuit breaker (Figure
1-1) types ND, HND, and NDC are 600 VAC maximum
rated devices with Digitrip OPTIM Models 550, 750 or
1050 trip units rated 800A or maximum continuous

current. They are for AC applications only and can
be reverse fed. They are listed in accordance with
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. Standard UL 489 and
satisfy the requirements of International Electrotechnical
Commission Recommendations No. IEC OPTIM
750 and 1050 N-Frame circuit breakers are equipped
with zone interlocking and an auxiliary switch and alarm
switch for customer usage. Other internal accessories

are available but must be factory
installed since they are factory sealed. Model 550 is not
sealed and can accommodate field installed accessories,

 including an communications kit.

These Eaton GHB series miniature circuit breakers are bolted into place in panelboards for low-voltage fluorescent lighting applications. They interrupt currents when faults are detected in the circuit. They have a lug orientation to allow for straight-in wiring through bus bars, which eliminates the need to pigtail wires and helps organize the load center.
