Eaton’s Motor Circuit Protectors (HMCP)Series are UL Recognized instantaneous-only breakers for motor short-circuit protection. When used in tested motor starter combinations they provide complete UL Listed motor control and protection and short-circuit current ratings up to 100,000A. Available in current ratings from 3A to 1200A for use with starters up to 900 HP.

These Eaton / Cutler Hammer HFD 65kCircuit Breakers are part of the Series C, F-Frame type circuit breakers. Eaton / Cutler Hammer panelboards type PRL3 and type PRL4 as well as POW-R-LINE C switchboards use these breakers as branch devices. HFD 65k breakers are commonly available in 1P, 2P and 3P configurations.

The F-Frame Series C circuit breakers (Fig. 1) are rated from 15A to 225A (150A for 1 pole versions) continuous current and are available as thermal-magnetic circuit breakers and molded case switches. (Molded case switches are available rated at 100A, 150A , and 225A.) Circuit breakers are listed in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. Standard UL489, and satisfy the (P1) requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission Recommendation No. IEC 157-1. Molded case switches are listed in accordance with UL489. For this publication, the term circuit breaker also includes molded case switches and F-Frame is used to cover all of the circuit breakers

Vacuum contactors and starters were designed for starting and controlling 3-phase, 50/60 Hz, AC motors. Each contact is enclosed in a vacuum bottle to reduce and contain contact arcing. This design offers excellent performance for plugging and jogging applications.
